Sir Elton John might just have stirred up a new controversy while discussing Jesus, in an interview given to a U.S. magazine.

Elton John said in the interview that, “I think Jesus was a compassionate, super intelligent gay man who understood human problems”. He also told the magazine that, “Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East – you’re as good as dead”.

Elton John who himself is a champion of gay rights campaigns, also described to the magazine his gay relationship with David Furnish, whom he married on 21 December 2005. John is reported to have told the magazine that he fell in love with Furnish the first time they ever met. He also discussed about his previous relationships with younger men.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and the owner of the best selling song of all times, is set to face criticism and backlash of Church officials and Christians worldwide over his controversial statements. A representative of the Church of England replied to the comment by saying they shared the musician’s view that Jesus was compassionate and loving but the details of his personal life should be left to the experts.

It is also worth mentioning here that the 62-year old singer was also criticized for his remarks in a music magazine in 2006 where he suggested that he would love to ban religion completely as it encouraged hatred against gays.

Vickie Winans, the American Gospel music artist, appeared in BET’s ‘The Mo’Nique Show’ on February 18, 2010. Vickie Winans along with Yvette Nicole Brown appeared on the Thursday’s episode of the show.

Vickie Winans is a much-popular Gospel music artist who is now running her own record label. She requested Verity Records to release her recording contract and started her own label, Destiny Joy Records. Vickie Winans tells the story behind the label’s name which is very personal to her. She told that she after giving birth to her son Coconut she got pregnant again and decided to name her Destiny Joy Winans. But she lost the baby during a miscarriage in her fifth month. Her album ‘How I Got Over’ which has been nominated for Grammy Awards was released by her own record label. Vickie Winans has created several successful albums and is one of the popular American Gospel music artists. Her album ‘Bringing It All Together’ debuted at #1 on the gospel music charts at the Billboard and earned a Grammy nomination too.

In ‘The Mo’Nique’ show, Vickie Winans talked about her aerobic videos and discussed her career. Vickie Winans’ appearance in the show must have attracted new viewership for ‘The Mo’Nique Show’ as Vickie Winans is quite popular with the BET audience. Vickie Winans’ profile on BET’s ‘Lift Every Voice’ is the most-viewed episode of the program’s history. Also, Vickie Winans’ religious beliefs might inspire Mo’Nique…who can say?

And here comes Andrea Fay Friedman to justify the Family Guy episode about ‘the former governor of Alaska’. Andrea Fay Friedman spoke out through an email which she sent to The New York Times this Thursday in which she said that Ms. Palin doesn’t have any sense of humor. So, what happened in that particular episode of Family Guy which made Ms. Palin so upset?

The teenage character Chris went on a date with a girl named Ellen (voiced by Andrea Fay Friedman). Ellen has Down syndrome (just like Sarah Palin’s son). During the dinner Ellen tells Chris that her mother is a former governor of Alaska. The scene provided quite a thing to Sarah Palin to get angry. Please note that Sarah Palin’s son Trig has Down syndrome and Ms. Palin is the former governor of Alaska. Angry Palin said that the Family Guy episode was not ‘really funny’ and called the script a work of ‘cruel, cold-hearted’ people. Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol, also said that the Family Guy script writers mocked his family and his brother.

But not everyone is against Family Guy. Andrea Fay Friedman emailed a support message to New York Times and said that the sentence ‘former governor of Alaska’ was actually very funny and sarcastic, and that Ms. Palin doesn’t have a sense of humor.

Andrea Fay Friedman later gave an interview to ArtsBeat and talked about the controversy. Andrea Fay Friedman said that the character Ellen is drawn on her and she herself has Down syndrome. Andrea Fay Friedman further said that I was making fun of Sarah Palin and not her son.

Hmm…personally, I understand Sarah Palin’s reaction. She is the mother and I can totally understand how sensitive she is about her son’s Down syndrome. Moreover, no one really knew that Ellen is portraying the life of Andrea Fay Friedman and that she also has the Down syndrome (until she told it in her email and interview). Also, what wrong has Sarah Palin done that every TV joke is about her (first J Lo made fun of her and now Family Guy). I think we should just give her a break.

Jenna’s interview with Jacobellis this morning was but compassionate smiles and competent questions from the interviewer and sparkling blue eyes and gorgeous yellow curls from the interviewee with her dignified posture. Jenna was trying to make us believe that from her own experiences she was able to feel the pain that Lindsey suffered. According to Jenna Lindsay was feeling good now in response to her texts last night.

So not every body is loosing at Olympics, some are getting more than they desire and if Jenna Bush has got Lindsay speak to her then Jenna has not only learnt the snowboarding she also learnt broadcasting of the fame to relative ports to be picked up.
